About Us

Torres and Associates was founded by Juan Jose Torres in November 1980. Juan immigrated from Mexico City to the United States in 1969, inspired by his family's strong influence on career goals. Many of Juan’s uncles were accountants, which sparked his interest in the field. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), Juan fulfilled his dream of becoming an accountant and established his own firm in Little Village, Chicago, guided by values of family and community service. Over the years, he has built a trusted clientele for all accounting and tax needs. In 1989, his brother Miguel Angel Torres joined the firm, inspired by Juan. As Miguel pursued his education in accounting, working at the office provided him valuable insights and client connections. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Kaplan University and has since expanded his clientele, continuing to work alongside the family business.

Muchos de sus tíos eran contadores, lo que despertó su interés en el campo.
